With building codes in Ontario becoming more strict, it’s imperative that STC (airborne noise) and IIC (impact noise) ratings are satisfied. AK level and polish can usually meet these codes with our self-leveling lightweight cements by pouring 1” to 1.5” over the existing wood sub-floor.

In buildings where there are multi-story residential floors with different residents on each floor, STC and IIC ratings become even more strict. To mitigate this issue for our clients, we offer a sound attenuation mat paired with the self-leveling cement poured on top.

This floor system of sound attenuation mat and self-leveling cement decouples the sound transfer from floor to floor and will drastically increase the buildings STC and IIC ratings.

AK level and polish can also pour on interior electrical and hot water based radiant heated floor systems. Cement is designed to be used within the elevated operating temperature.

I levelled the basement floor in a previous house. It was very difficult and time consuming. Fazel and his crew did it in two days, first grinding the high spots and applying an epoxy vapour barrier, and then levelling it. The result is perfect - as flat as a skating rink - making it easy for me to lay vinyl plank flooring. Highly recommended.

Original post: Jan 2023I originally had stamped concrete in my backyard that was painted by the previous owners. It made the surface extremely slippery. I found AK level and polish online in April 2021. We called them up and Fazel came to the appointment on time and after a consultation, I decided to have them sand down the existing stamping and place a new coating on it, which would mean that I would lose the concrete stamping, but the new surface was called polyasparatic and would look better and more modern. The work was done a few days later by a 2 man team. The workers were professional and respected the surrounding areas and didn't damage anything in my backyard. After a few short months, the surface began to crack. I contacted Fazel and he said he would come by to discuss what the next steps would be. After we discussed it, he said he would come by in early spring the following year (after the winter) to allow for the surface to be fully affected by the winter months. In the spring, I tried reaching out to him with pictures showing the full extent of the surface damage and I didn't receive a response. I'm very disappointed with the condition my patio is in now and with the work being backed by a warranty, I expected something to be done about . I wish that they provided more knowledge of the product. The pictures clearly show that this top coating that was offered, wasn't made for an outdoor surface and should have be cut with the existing concrete underneath to prevent it from damaging. There are some other areas that cracked open and popped up because it was exposed to outdoor use.Update May 2023Fazel just came by over the weekend and redid the work. We've kept in contact over the last few months and he committed to come by and redo it. Even after rain delays, he still kept his word and came the next available day. We were both very discouraged that the previous technique didn't work. we decided on grinding down the topcoat again and applying a simple sealant. The work was completed in a day. I've changed my rating to a five star because AK Level kept their word and the job was under warranty and no cost to me. There is still some disappointment on the work though. The polyaspartic floor coating was double the cost of the sealant technique. I do understand the operating cost on AK Level's part to redo the project, but as a paying customer, it's still hard to stomach that I paid double for a basic solution, but I do appreciate the customer service.
